Looks the goods Goonie and that Lil’Stick male is spectacular
She/he/it smells awesome, threw a few calyxes before the balls and its the perfect plant to dust the other autos with. It was one of the autos I stunted in the flood table setup before it went into Coco

Serious amount of pollen you have there:cool:
That's what it looks like but they actually don't have as much as what I was expecting, but atleast there's a tad, it looks like little white crystals instead of yellowish powder. Been plucking off flowers and drying them out. Then I'll try rough them up in a tea strainer and sift the pollen into a container, fingers crossed it works 🤣

The strainer worked pretty well, just chucked a pot saucer underneath and used a spoon to roughen up the pollen sacs, then sifted it through. Only a small amount of plant matter. Now it's in a jar with silica desiccant to help keep it dry

Hey Goonie
Can you collect another way?
Pollen shed can be hard to predict. Plants look ready but still don’t release.
Can you collect by putting plates or glass under the male and catch as it falls?
Another way is once you see some pollen, snip a branch, place in a “vase” with water and catch on a plate.
As mIne are outdoors, I bring their pot inside then bend and shape all the branches over one plate for a few days.
I’m not sure about dry and sifting? I’ve only ever had yellow gold pollen.
Anyway I’m still mastering a technique, I’ve got seeds from 14-20 day old pollen stored in the fridge, haven’t succeeded with frozen pollen yet.

PS nice variety of plants you have this round. 👍
Thanks Saw 😊

That's exactly what I'm going through, the pollen sacs will fall off before releasing pollen, and the pollen is very heavy compared to the normal yellow powdery stuff that makes a plume when you flick a branch.

Yeah I've seen people putting the plants over a mirror or something similar to catch the pollen, then you just scrape a pile up but I've usually just dusted plants by shaking the whole plant over the mother plant. I could only do the sift method since this auto is a pain in the ass..

You don't need to dry the sacs before sifting but they reckon you will yield more pollen if you do, I tried it fresh today a few hours after picking the sacs and it worked fine, less plant matter too.
Frozen pollen should work but it's gotta be completely dry or else it just cakes up, I made the mistake of not completely drying my MM pollen last time around (put flour in with it but it was damp and ruined the whole lot). They reckon you can cut it with flour but you have to dry it out in the oven before adding it. Desiccant packs should keep it from spoiling too.

Highly recommend the sift technique for stubborn plants that won't drop much pollen, Its a bit time consuming though.

I just picked them as they were beginning to open up.
