An oldie but a goodie...

A young man called Chris from London wanted to buy a Christmas present for his new girlfriend.
They hadn't been seeing each other for very long and she lived in Scotland...

Chris consulted with his sister and decided, after careful consideration, that a pair of good quality gloves would strike the right note... not too romantic and not too personal. Off he went with his sister to Harrods and they selected a dainty pair of fur lined quality leather gloves.

His sister bought a pair of sexy knickers for herself at the same time.
Harrods had a free gift wrap offer but the assistant mixed up the two items, the sister got the gloves and Chris unknowingly got the knickers.

Good old Chris sent off his gift wrapped Chrissy present in a parcel with the following letter.

Dear Maggie,

I chose these because I've noticed that you are not wearing any when we go out in the evenings.
If it had not been for my sister I would have chosen the long ones with buttons, but she wears shorter ones (which are easier to remove).

These are a very delicate shade, but the lady I bought them from showed me the pair she had been wearing for the past three weeks and I hardly noticed any marks.

I had her try yours on for me and she looked really smart in them even though they were a little bit tight on her. She also said that they rub against her ring which helps keep it clean. :D In fact she hasn't needed to clean it since she began wearing them.

I wish I was there to put them on for you the first time, as no doubt many other hands will touch them before I have a chance to see you again.
When you take them off remember to blow into them a little bit because they will be naturally a little damp from wearing.

Just imagine how many times my lips will kiss them during the coming year.
I hope you will wear them for me on our next date.

All my love,
Chris

P.S. My mum tells me that the latest style is to wear them folded down with a little bit of fur showing.;)

Temu strikes again!

Bought the mrs a cute glass Xmas tree ornament this year. It had a 5 star rating so I thought it must be a popular gift but man her face lit up with excitement when she opened it! Loves it so much that instead of packing all the decorations together for next year she decided to keep it in her bedside table. She said she didn't want it to break in storage 🤷‍♂️

It comes as no surprise that i'm an odd cunt. But think i might've found some Engineer/s that might have a bit on me..

Below is a picture of the Muan International Airport where the attempted emergency landing took place. As you can see, it's not bad apart from the fucking dirt mound that is positioned 140 metres at the end of the tarmac. So it got me fucked in this day 'n age how that was an oversight. Admittedly, on top of the mound is guidance lights for the aircraft. But surely there's a better system that they can come up with today's advancements. Bloody incredible, if it wasn't there, there's a reasonable chance more people could've walked away from the wreck.

EDIT: One apparent expert reckons it was doing about 70mph when it bellied out on the tarmac, so there's a good chance it could've washed that speed off in a couple/few hundred metres.

I wouldn't be blaming the engineers. The placement of the berm would be a deliberate design feature of the airfield to stop an aircraft as a last-ditch effort in case of a catastrophic failure.

They're apparently blaming a bird-strike, but I don't buy that bullshit story at all.

Commercial aircraft of all types are designed (over-engineered) to fly & function after a bird-strike. Even on one engine.

A bird-strike during takeoff that disabled ALL 3 of the landing-gear mechanisms simultaneously? Then how were the aircrew able to retract ALL 3 of them normally & continue on their flight plan without ANY warnings in the cockpit (which would have had them circling to dump fuel before attempting an emergency landing back at the same airfield).

If the aircrew were aware of a TOTAL landing-gear malfunction (again, highly unlikely) & called it in as a PAN (Possible Assistance Needed) to the ATC well in advance, why weren't firefighting ground-crew deployed to cover the entire runway with fire-retardant foam?

Why did they land so far down the available runway space to give time to wash-off speed before hitting the berm?

There are pre-landing checks that all aircrew go through well in advance of touching down. Gear down & locked (3-greens) & 30 degrees of flaps (which slows the aircraft down & creates extra lift).

The aircrew were totally unaware of their predicament on approach? They didn't have "3 Greens" to confirm that all 3 of the wheels were down & had 30 degrees of flaps applied? They were unaware that their approach angle/speed were much higher than normal?

Take a closer look at the footage of the crash above. This aircraft had no gear down & absolutely NO FLAPS applied whatsoever.

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.....

I saw the footage briefly. looked like there was a big drop off after that mound, i thought it must have been there to stop somethinmg. is there a cliff down to the ocean?

Oh well, they got their desired effect then. They stopped it. Albeit only 140m off the tarmac.

Agreed

I haven't heard when the suspected bird strike took place, or when the landing gear was retracted. Can only guess this happened while they were climbing.

The air-worthiness of another aircraft of Jeju Air fleet has been bought into question with issues with it landing gear.

Once again, I'm guessing the ground crew probably weren't given enough time to react. Looking foward to what comes out of transcripts.

Why did they land so far down the available runway space to give time to wash-off speed before hitting the berm?
Yeah, that's an odd one. Looking at the speed it was carrying, it's as if they didn't belly-land it until mid-strip. And once they got it down, any chance to use reverse thrust is gone.

Yeah, hoping to learn more on that front.

Take a closer look at the footage of the crash above. This aircraft had no gear down & absolutely NO FLAPS applied whatsoever.
I did previously mentioned that they belly-landed it, so I was already aware of that one.

Something is rotten in the state of Denmark.....
You got me with that one..

But yeah, at this stage, there appears to be a few cock-ups on various fronts. Possibly a combination of pilot error, mismanagement with ATC, and possible maintenance issues. Be interesting to learn in time what did transpire.

On Google Earth there appears to be a gentle slope at best. Here's a pic outside the airport boundaries looking in the direction of the flight path.

And the nearest establishment from this point is 650m off into the distance. To right there fields of crops, and a old age retirement joint.

Bloody odd one.

Although any plane crash would freak the fuck out of anyone,

Yeah, absolutely terrifying. The one in Azerbaijan the other day had the nose cone and/or cockpit torn off on the intial impact.
