Was Thinking last 6 to 4 of the 12 hour cycle, to mimic arvo sunIf your running a 4×4 you might aswell turn the 600 off. The 4 led should be heaps. Running the extra 600 is probably burning power for no extra gain unless you've got co2. I've run 20 in my 4×8 I just don't veg past 3 weeks. It will shave weeks off if prepared to grow more plants.
Those led have a wider spectrum and all the red etc you will need. I expect with 4 led and 600 hps the light will be way to intense and bleech the topsWas Thinking last 6 to 4 of the 12 hour cycle, to mimic arvo sun![]()
Would I be better dumping the HPS and replace middle with another LED the same? I have a spare one..Those led have a wider spectrum and all the red etc you will need. I expect with 4 led and 600 hps the light will be way to intense and bleech the tops

It should be fine for now, that article seems like ai generated garbage so its hard to follow. Is this information correct? Stumbled across it..

The Best Lighting Strategy: Mix HPS with LED Together - FLEXSTAR
One of the most compelling reasons to mix HPS with LED lights is the complementary spectrum coverage. HPS lights excel in the red and far red spectrum, makingwww.flex-star.com
So my combo will be ok?
This was before I seen what LED'S you were talking about. I retract my last comments and say go with just the HPS100% mate
What Goonie saidIt should be fine for now, that article seems like ai generated garbage so its hard to follow.
Later down the track I would definitely upgrade though, those 60w led's you have wont have much penetration through the canopy, you'll have to hang them lower than your HPS which will just block the light coming from the HPS, not ideal.
Id probably just ditch the leds come flower to be honest and use the HPS separately for flower.
As mentioned here earlier, you might be lucky to get 0.6-0.7 grams per watt with HPS depending on strain and plant training. A good mid range LED fixture will double that amount, while probably using less power too. 1.2g-1.4g per watt with a good strain and some half assed training methods.
Love the tentHi Guy's I thought I'd share how I do my waste or recirculating setup. I'm a cheap ass trying to save every dollar I go to Bunnings and get one of the green pools in the picture they cost like $20-$25 then I wack a top on "please note colour coded screws lol!" I was lucky in the shed! cut your pot holes so the fit in about half way.
In the picture is and old setup of the pump and draining system, just turn the green knob to either water them on timer or drain the tank all at Bunnings.
This time I'll be using the pump just to drain with a garden hose attachment I can't carry fuck all my back, neck and right shoulder are fucked, FUBAR! so I have to make it easy for me. So just for tank waist this time and dump on outdoor summer crop
Then I have a spare tank like in the pictures, I'll be using one of them and a cheap drip system pump for feeding the ladies that has a timer.
So fill tank, let them feed with dippers and drain, too easy! oh also wack and aquarium pump 1 for each pot, for the roots, 1 in nutrient tank.
Some will probably say it's shit but it works and is full automated.
if there those round lights you pictured in your other post putting out the purple light they are nothing like spiderfarmer. They have 8 diodes the same as spiderfarmer all the blues and reds are shite Chinese. Diodes. There is not one company that builds good lights with those diodes. Post some pics of them and the specs if you want advice on them. As for power saving. It's not really power saving if your burning 600w then another 400w. The 400w your burning is creating fuck all usable light. You would of been better putting another 250 with your first investment buying 4X 50 dollar useless lights and got an entry level mars or spider that can do a 4x4 using 480w to save powerI know all LED would be cheaper to run but $1200 for a light is a rip off. Mine were $50 each similar spec to Spider Farmer spec also made in China like every thing. So see how it goes...
