He makes some very good points but he seems to have an over the top hatred for electric cars. I've got 2 mates that own Tesla's and they definitely didn't buy em because they think they are saying the world they bought em because they go fucking hard!!

Yeah I've had some averagely fast cars from V8s to turbo 4s and 6s and they nothing compared to the acceleration of electric cars.
Yeah combustion engines are outdated garbage compared to electric cars.
1 Mate has had a his tesla for 4 years now and has taken it to be serviced once.
Costs him $7 to charge it over night and it will drive 600km.
In my car that averages 11lt per 100km
At $2 a liter it would cost me $132
Very big difference!
Heaps of other advantages over combustion I could mention!
So yeah he's carrying on like an idiot about electric cars!

I really like the way lithium batteries burns when it goes into melt down and blows up that's terrific.especially when its garaged ajoining your home and everything you own.
Very curious to see how electric cars pan out over the next few years .
I've read ev,s sales arnt too crash hot ATM.
I certainly wouldn't spend a red cent on an ev @ the moment.
Tesla is in a pretty serious decline ATM.
Cybertruck also known as cyber urinal is the big joke in the new car world.
The ev market is based on a lot of bs in my humble opinion.

Ev sales up over 44% year on year OF with a cheaper model BYD right on the heels of the Tesla there are rumours goin that legislation will be past no more new combustion engines will be sold in Aus from 2026 onwards so they be the way of the future Id say unless the oil opec have anything to do with it there is a new lithium ion battery they working on called solid state they be 600-1000km range with no chance of catching fire well staying on fire like the nvp battery does today a lot of the fires you hear of are cheap ass scooters from China don’t hear of to many teslas spontaneous combusting and if you’ve been in 1 they are off their heads mate

Yeah lithium fires are very dangerous and that is really the only major dawn back of EV. Toyota is in the process of finalising design for solid state batteries which are much better and safer.
Considering tesla model y was the 4th most sold car on earth last year I wouldn't really call that a decline.
Have you not seen anything about governments banning the sale of combustion engines over the next few years?? It's all over the internet!
Your humble opinion doesn't count for much when ya wrong!

Have ya seen the BYD tuck? Same size as ranger and hilux! Looks good and apparently has 0 to 100 in 6 seconds. A ranger or hilux would be double that if they lucky!

Im slowly converting. Got a new ego wipper snipper a few months back its a beauty. Line IQ and self feed.

Was still fucking around pushing the petrol mower though as its only 5 years old. got about 600m2 to cut (sloping block) and its been killing me lately heavy prick of a thing with a useless shit catcher that never fills etc. So I said Fuck it! No more.

Picked up a self propelled ego mower during the Boxing day sales. 56v lithium battery. Fuck me! Why didnt I do this years ago. Surprisingly, this big beast is slightly heavier than the Masport petrol but thats where the cons start and finish. Every other thing about it shits over petrol. More power, great user friendly self propelled function but the best part is the massive catcher actually fills right up. I mow this yard in half the time now with out working up a sweat.

yeh my mum got a battery powered mower and the thing its awesome, its really easy for her to push and theres no compromise on power of the blades either

Yeah my mate has the same stuff and raves about it constantly! Got another mate with the stihl range and they constantly arguing over who's is better!
They both top quality gear.
I've had a plug in $200 ozito from the warehouse and it's now 5 years old. Never missed a beat plug it in mow put it away. Grass catcher is not the best but my lawn would be less than half the size of yours so it's not a massive issue.

what about our power grid if we all go EV , can it keep up ? , maybe we need to be building nuclear power plants here in oz which might be able to help to future proof our need for power considering coal has been getting the cold shoulder for a while now

This is a good point. Our current grid probably couldn't sustain all of us having EVs.

And it can fold right up and store on its end taking up half the space the old petrol one did. Longevity will be its main test but they have 5 year warranties which gives some piece of mind. 3 years for the batteries, in which a new 7.5ah one will cost over $400... Can get a complete Aldi petrol mower for around $300.

Way overpriced, but all this tech will come back to its proper price point as it slowly becomes the norm.

Yeah the mower itself would be very simple so probably not much to go wrong with it. Battery waste will be the biggest problem when everything goes electric. Hopefully there can be a sustainable industry in recycling them or maybe legislation that the companies that make them have to dispose of them in an environmentally friendly way. If that's ever possible!

I fully agree with this statement good luck powering em all with wind or solar that tech will improve no doubt but yea plugging an EV into a coal lead power grid is really defeating the purpose not to mention the environmental damage from the Chinese mining shitty lepidolite lithium low grade heaps of toxic byproduct brine lithium from the south americas depleting already scarce water supplies I’m invested fairly heavily in LTR so I am a touch biased with my views they be using 60 percent renewable power source from start up biggest solar and wind farm of any mine in the world that’s where things are heading esg more important than ever Aus will never go nuclear to costly No nuclear power plant in the world has ever recouped their initial outlay costs let alone the cost of running 1 but we have to do something I think we be using coal n gas for at least another 25+ yrs
