In my books,. Heating/burning hash like this just to play/fondle with it. Is on par with DC's who like to squeeze live buds to check density and aroma of them. All should be served up a firm backhand for their troubles.

That said, wicked slab of hash.
There's a lot of scammers on European streets. One local in Portugal tried selling me a block of hash (rubber substance covered in a thin layer of hash). I didn't ask permission, I just started warming up a corner of the block until I sussed out it was a rip off. I bent the next block in half( on the very next street corner) to find the exact scam going on .

yeh, I agree squeezing live buds for smell and density is a no go.
But, I agree on heating the hash with a flame and rubbing it. Inferior hash will leave pollutants after heating and rubbing on your fingers/hand. When hash is clean, there is no residue left.
Also, some old school hash countries heat the hash and work it just before smoking it. Maybe something like a quick decarb ??

Doomsayers?
Pretty much. There's no doubt we are raping the planet and need to cut down on our gluttony and excess before it's too late, but the constant claims that we are going to be in gas masks within the next two decades, underwater or frozen over (by a bunch of elites flying around the world on private jets and yachts with 20 car motorcades mind you) is getting a bit old.

People would take this issue far more serious if there weren't ideologues running around making ridiculous claims about the earth's demise and fear mongering. It just makes people roll their eyes and move on.

We were supposed to be frozen by now. Then it was gas masks by 2000, then it was underwater with no ice caps left all by now.

Do what youse want with other folks blocks of hash. But if anyone took to my gear with a flame. Don't be too shocked if you got slapped up the side of the head for it.

The street vendors (hash) throughout UK/ Europe and North Africa frequently put a flame to a small corner( hash)in front of potential customers. It's done to demonstrate that the block is actually hash. Its actually a very common practice over there. Its not necessary, to test your own stash, or when sourcing from a known/legit vendor( e.g. Dutch cafe).

@Old fox Thank fuck I was raised in a better cannabis culture to where trust and your word meant something.

In fact, I don't recall selling any hash over the years. It's pretty well been a special treat that you'd sling mates as a freebie, or drop a chunk in the bowl at parties. Taking a lighter to a block other than to crumble it upe for a mix wouldn't have been well received in my old network.

To be honest, I wouldn't buy/entertain the idea of getting anything (legal or otherwise) off a street dealer, OS. Too many different scams going on these days.

Sure, absolutely not good form in Aus to test by burning. Years ago I used to buy hash locally from known sources, so was always legit and never had to test it. Unfortunately travelling overseas ( in a prohibition country, at that time) where we dont know anyone, there's no choice but to buy off the street. Otherwise I would have gone without for 11 months( except for time in Amsterdam and North Africa )
Flowers were difficult to source at that time in most European countries. It was all hash culture. Apparently flowers are lot more available there now, with an increase in indoor home growers.

Sounds like we are talking about 2 different types of hash. Bubble hash (Modern hash) doesn't crumble like old school hash does or should.
