was walking the dog in the bush near our house the other day. i don’t usually see other people.

i have a little secluded spot i stop and sit and have a smoke. it’s in the middle of the bush but i suspect there was a farm house there at some point as mixed in with the native bush there’s roses and lavender and some obviously non native trees etc.

anyway there is also a creek/stream that runs down the hill which stays somewhat wet in summer. creek stops running but the arum lillie’s tell me there’s some water.

so i was sitting there with the dog and all of a sudden two men were there. one an older guy, biker or bogan looking and a younger tradie looking 30 something. they didn’t see me for a while and they were looking in the area where it’s still wet with interest.

when they saw me they seemed started but then asked me about the area and if there was water running. i explained in winger it was a creek but it seems like it stays somewhat moist.

they went back to inspecting the area and left to find the part where the creek is visible when i gave directions.

i can’t think what they were doing except what i have been thinking about, that it would be a great place to grow in summer.

anyway. maybe something unrelated.
Might be looking for gold? Being a creek bed makes me think that, and the way you described them lol

KELLY
Jennifer Ann

Farewell Jennie Kelly.
Born 15 May 1936.
Our wild and wayward mother died on 28 October 2024. She refused to say “passed.”
We spend most of our lives compensating for our upbringing said Jennie.
She believed that exposing youth to religion was a form of child abuse. It was impossible to watch the news in her presence due to her vocal outrage at the way the country is run. She held John Howard in particular contempt.
Mum grew great dope, never wanted to leave a party and gave up champagne or gin frequently, but never simultaneously.
Her rare attempts at “responsible” parenting or grandparenting were always touching. She said Sean was a much better driver than Chris.

News on what’s next to follow.
Bring a shovel.

Gosh, not long to Xmas now. How time flies. I guess we'll get to hear this a lot on the radio soon enough.

I knew a bloke who thought that Yoko Ono was Japanese for One Egg Please.
