I don't rely on Wikipedia as a reliable source of information, any more than I would Fuckbook, but it provides a useful synopsis of this guy.

Yes, absolutely, because the UK is its own country, has its own laws & governance. For another country to impose its own values on that system of existence is tantamount to bullying or coercion.
I had to go & look-up what you were referring-to.
In the case of Sweeney, it was not the actual individuals involved, but a blanket "Hate-speech" of Muslims in general, after she saw an image of BOTH white & Asians cleaning-up after an horrific tragedy.
In the case of Robinson, he was found guilty of spreading misinformation about the perpetrator being a Muslim asylum-seeker, which resulted in RWNJ riots.
Whilst both of their actions was obviously wrong, they could have tempered their reactions & not ended up in jail for them. As adults, we're expected to be accountable for our own actions & speech & not resort to puerile, one-eyed rants.
Unfortunately, it appears that both of them were probably brought up in an environment of hate/violence & spat their long-held & deeply-seated venomous anger at everything around them. They lashed-out at anyone & everything in an attempt to assuage their own pain.
Am I going all Woke & touchy-feely here? Nope! They got what they deserved & I have no sympathy for them whatsoever.
OK, I'm going to admit here, that I'm kinda bored on a Public Holiday that's based on a Pagan fertility-rite from the Northern Hemisphere. Don't get me started on Religion.......

I guess not on all the subjects such as trans. I personally believe there are only 2 genders. But be whoever you want as long as you keep the decency and civility. But globalisation however, with the emergence of AI right now, the world is rapidly changing into the new era.
