with what i know with LED's keep it high, they are a bit death rayish if too close in my experience. I use 2 60w LED strips in my veg room, which accomodates all until flowering pretty much. To be honest I cant say what percent they are at maybe 80% i just twiddle the knob but at 100% and 60cm+ they are not happy. I just done it too myself prior to putting them in larger pots.

nah, warmth is key (imo) to germination.

if not thermostat, set up how you plan and test temps before you kill seeds.

A tea towel or 2 between will help keep it less direct, you can test your sensors for all your gadgets inside the propagation tray (y)
I suppose I can put the pulse one inside the propagation tray To get all the temperatures and what not
And the 2 tea towels seem like the go
