HK 1st model of the Monaro before they started playing with Chevy 8s.
Probably 179 or less. Full slug but all style then one endless gear. 1st get gets you rolling then into 2nd (top) till you needed to stop.
I met a guy in this area with a shed full of them about 5 years back. Mind boggling.

I’ve got one of these (long story), sits around doing nothing. TX5 Ghia. Pretty lux for an older car.

One I miss most is a 72 LJ XU-1. Sold it around 2008, needed cash for a new house. Red six, so certainly wasn’t fast, but was loud, had the lumpy Bathurst cam and triple SU’s, certainly sounded the part.
Yeah I was laughing - it was a very nice vehicle for the age. Compared to the bombs my parents drove, this was a Rolls Royce to me. Power windows, air conditioning. I really should have held onto it a bit longer... but I didn't need it at the time and that's why I got rid of it to save on on-road costs

I had a hillman hunter royal once (a sedan though). Best little bush basher, drum brakes all round. IIRC, a hillman won a great race/rally that started in the UK and wrapped up here in Australia.

But I do miss my old Holden Vans. Had HJ and a old Bedford that I wanted to do up. A forced sale fucked up that dream..

Reminds me of my dad - he got a very nice Kingswood from my mums grant aunt in the early 90s. It was a really beauty of a car - white with all red interior. bastard rolled it driving home after getting drunk at a friends house in the country. can't believe he wrecked that thing - was way beyond anything else he ever had before or since. driving around on a hot summer with the windows down were what childhoods dreams are made of

I've got a 65 XP Falcon ute I've had for 20 years. It's got a 450hp 351 cleveland rammed in it c4 and 9 inch
that raises a few eye brows. Especially from engineers. The look i got off the first 2 QLD ones before they walked off was gold. 3rd one asked if it was regoed in NSW like that I said yes showed him the engineers cert and old rego papers and he signed it off. Makes alot of HSV commodore owners panic and a fair few cry 😆 the thing only weighs 1300kg. Its a bitch to work on and change plugs i wont post the outside up incase the plod are lurking its got a very custom paint job having a Artist for a wife and easily be tracked down20220216_184748.jpg

After receiving the DC award for the pic of my 351 in my ute. I realised the mod plate was visible with some numbers visible. Here i was worried about the artwork all over it helping me get tracked down 😆 so for all you enthusiasts here is another angle of how tight it is in there.20230918_195228.jpg

Me second car. An old XD falcon wagon with a retrofitted independent rear end, 3.9 multi point from an EA, 5spd manual, 3:36 LSD. Was surprisingly quick off the line as they weigh as much as a small-medium 4cyl does these days despite the size.
