Yeah its a big waste of power too, i was just running games on 1080p for a bit.
I did get a viewsonic 2k ips monitor when i first built it and the fucking thing had like 5 dead pixels which drove me insane lol.

Luckily i was able to send it back.
Next monitor will probably be an AOC since they have a perfect pixel guarantee.

Might go 4k but i noticed IPS fucks with me eyes compared to me old TN
yeah i run most things in 1080 my laptops 4k honestly its not needed its nice (when it works correctly or if ya fork out 5k for a Samsung QLED)

Thought I'd share my DIY sim-rig with ya's. :p

rcsm.jpg

On the back is all the power, cable management, and a haptic bass shaker with twin shakers (pedal box, under seat). Yet to dial that in yet, waiting on a part to arrive this week.

EDIT: it's partly folded up in this pic. She's also on wheels too which is quite rare for sim-rigs..

would def be nice if cannabis products were totally grown & manufactured here in Oz but the phase " We Have More Control Around The Quality " that grower used with the vision of plants he was growing was interesting
close enough good enough when your extracting compounds i guess

@benn0. Or is it Kenneth ?
That's cousin Kenneth, his great-great-great-great-great-grandparents were smuggled out of Australia to the U.S before they hatched. Part of the stolen generation you could say. Whole family both suffered on both sides of the big pond. Only doing his duty in making sure his kids stay close to home me thinks. Couldn't imagine living in the USA. So far away.

@itchybro just to add a bit of personal experience. For several years my blood sugars were below the threshold of once was regarded as entering Type 2 Diabetes. Then for no apparent reason, my Doctor advised me that I now did have T2D. I questioned him further, and he said after various studies the threshold had been lowered and I now fall within the range.

A little convenient for certain industries?

Sounds a bit like how back in the day Lead level exposure was different for Broken Hill, NSW and when they made it standard across the state a lot of randomized testing suddenly revealed an "above threshold reading" (or whatever term was used). I believe it was brang in line because new research may have even lowered it a little bit making the jump even bigger than the rest of the state.
Sorry to hear about the diabetes. Had an uncle with Type 1 and another that was border-line type 2 and it was very anonying for him to say the least

yeah threshold changes happen allot more frequently than we know about unfortunately , it is one of the reasons why Statins are one of the most sold drugs world wide , lower the numbers = sell more drugs , the other thing to keep in mind about these thresholds , they are also made up by people having blood tests , each pathology lab set thresholds based on the multiple results combined , generally you'd think fair enough but you need to ask the question who are the people getting blood tests done , healthy or sick people ? in general most healthy people aren't going to the doc's & getting blood tests , you have to figure those pathology lab thresholds are made up by mostly people who are unwell , if that's the case how unwell are these people compared to you ?

as to T2D , i've worried about this because i have a sweet tooth & knowing it's a life style disease i thought i was in a prime position to become insulin resistant which would lead to T2D , my numbers have always stayed within " the range " , the range is a bit strange when you think of these numbers = if my fasting blood glucose is 5.7 i'm good but if i'm 5.8 i'm pre diabetic , i guess they have to draw the line somewhere or maybe they should be doing a fasting insulin test instead but try asking your doc to do that test & see what he says = No , anyway i have been on a low carb diet now for just over a year , in fact i have no carbs at all , i started at 110.5 kg & now sit around 79-80kg , my blood pressure was getting into the 160 over 90 range & is now around 115 over 75 , all other markers seemed to have normalized & i feel real good which i think is probably the best marker to go by , i can't recommend this kind of life style change enough , although i would suggest a slow 6 week transition from your currant diet to a low carb or carnivore diet to keep what they call the keto flu at bay

I swear this is how it feels trying to understand some of me mates when they try to let their feelings out lol. And then after half an hour you realize it's a thinly veiled extortion ploy.
It is a genuine concern how kids connect now. I look at how my kids connect with their mates, and it's something complete different, it's as if they're absent to each other in an odd kinda way. I guess growing up around phones/tablets has had a bit to do with it.

I feel ya. It's an odd timeline indeed. Sometimes I wonder when I'm going to wake up from it all. I'm not even that old yet and the last 20 years has been jarring.
