A thread for sharing/discussing current and/or upcoming shows / movies.

Been watching this show called 'The Chair Company'. To begin with I disliked the look of the poster pic and the name itself, honestly thought it would be pretty lame.

Watched a few episodes and it is odd but pretty funny too. Some pretty unhinged scenes which they throw in too, almost like they are trying to troll the audience.

Fuck I gotta gather the longevity to find something new. Every time I try to watch anything within the last 5-7 years it's an absolute cringe fest. Maybe I'm just looking in the wrong places.

AAA Games have got even worse in that regard too. Just a hollow shells for ideological propaganda these days. Just cram 9 black lesbians into the main plot line, throw pride flags everywhere and call 97% of the customer base that point out the constant bombardments "out of touch" while losing millions of shareholders money and barely gathering an audience.

I'm not bitter or anything lol.

Its a nightmare scrolling through all the shit shows to find anything decent enough to watch now.
I've noticed there's a pattern to the shows like you mentioned.
1: introduce gay/lesbian couple to show to make it 'inclusive' to the rainbow 🌈 people.
2: have a filler episode dedicated to gay relationships, jam it all into one episode so the audience gets rainbow fatigue
3: kill off 1 or both of the gay/lesbo characters, then continue on with the real plot of the show.

I've noticed that is what happens in most of the recent shows they come out with. Lol

i find the same , hard to find things worth watching , the latest thing (not sure how new it is) i liked & in fact watched it twice was Mobland which is a Guy Ritchie produced series , don't think he directed all the episodes though , Pierce Brosnan is the mob family boss who's a bit of a sicko but his wife in the show is real piece of work played by Helen Mirren , would def recommend it

Alrighty Ill drop my recommends that I can remember from the past few years. This is a long one.

A few years older, but when it comes to crime, if you haven't seen ZeroZeroZero then get onto it. One of the best shows I have ever watched in my life, the greatest of all time. Spans over multiple continents, weaving multiple serious stories together based around a huge cocaine shipment for a rather interesting conclusion.

This one is a tiny bit older, 2017, but Taboo with Tom Hardy is a binger, if you're into a more dark themed show. Taboo was great, very cinematic and lots of mystical themes too which I appreciated.

Guy Ritchie also directed a TV show based somewhat on his movie The Gentlemen, that was entertaining too but I wouldn't go ahead and call it "great" but it was a fun watch! It is a bit more light hearted, less grounded in reality.
WOOPS wrong link, that was a link to his original movie, proper link.

I LOVED the TV show, a modern retelling, The Day of the Jackal, I cant recommend that enough, I really loved that. I am pretty hard to please, but I really enjoyed that show.

I also liked "The Old Man".

The Count of Monte Cristo!!!! The ultimate revenge story, and I always enjoy this one when its retold. Now that I think about it, this show might have been my favourite of the past couple of years. A movie of this story came out recently and it was good too, but I really enjoyed the long form TV show a lot more than the movie.

MobLand was decent. If you liked MobLand you might like Kin, which is only a few years old too.

The Agency wasn't bad either.

Yeah the show is pretty good. Helen Mirren plays her part so well it's actually irritating 🤣.
That little bleached up grandson is annoying as all shit too 😂

Tulsa King isn't too bad too I reckon. It's so ridiculous though, as long as you don't look too deep into plot holes; which there is many of,
It can be pretty good.

agree Mirren plays a great part
& yeah grandson or third son as it turned out was an absolute prick , you were hanging for Hardy to belt the DC for fucking his daughter

i liked the scene where the nightclub owner / butcher is showing Tom Hardy , after he beat the fuck out of him , the chopped up body in the case , Hardy says to his offsider "have a look at that" , his offsider walks in opens the case & says something in his native tongue , Hardy says to the butcher "do you know what he just said" , the butcher replies , "no but i bet he said something about the size of his cock" :ROFLMAO:

What about the scene when pearce was fishing he was like "I'll grab your cock Richie". Seems like the script writer definitely has a thing for dicks lol.
