used to be in mason jars one ounce per jar.
in a cupboard.

nowadays in buckets in the fridge and freezer. have a jar or two out for daily smoking.
I've got a bit of a odd system where once a harvest is dried, i'll cure it in a large cardboard box for a month or two, instead of the burbing of jars routine. Once cured, it'd be 2oz stuffed into large maccona jars and sealed until required.

I've since done away with the jars, and utilised those resealable mylar foil lightproof pouches instead. Stuff an ounce in each one, and seal them with a cryovac. Turning out pretty well so far..

All stored at room temperature. No doubt, there's room for improvement in that area, though.
A breathable container during the cure (0-4 weeks) is pretty important, and temps below 20c is desirable. A budget method is a grove bag in a fridge/wine cooler.

Once optimum cure and homogenization has occurred, air tight container is okay.

Large grove > smaller grove > mason jar is a good method of storage to not open them more than you need.
just talking bout storage for personal use , dry & cure is an art form with in itself , & commercial is another world

i reckon dark colored air tight glass is the best storage but unfortunately it can get bloody expensive for Miron Violet wide mouth jars that don't come much bigger than 1 liter , although you can find larger if you look hard enough but still too expensive , so any air tight container works although metal is probably better than plastic , clear glass is ok cheap & easy to find just keep the jars in the dark , not a fan of vac sealing , don't like squashing buds down , fridge storing jars is a little hit & miss for me , as long as the fridge isn't to cold then it's fine & fits in with the darkness needed , I've also removed the globe from inside the fridge in the past which you could consider a little pedantic , either way light , air & temp are the degrading factors imo , of cause time but not a whole lot you can do about that , although controlling light , air & temp can give your buds more time at premium

a fridge can dry canna out sometimes quicker than when left at room temp
a fridge is usually a very low humidity environment
i have in those food grade buckets with lids from bunnings ( white). put in fridge after dried and cured.
only opened once in a blue moon. announce lasts me at least a month and i usually have a couple of ounces in jars out to use day to day.
