Pyrethrum vs Mavrik

Got a few spider mites on some plants. Will Pyrethrum kill them or should I get the synthetic pyrethroid Mavrik? Would love to be able to use predator mites but I don't think I've got the time for them at the moment.

So it's gonna have to be another trip to Bunnings. Can't use Neem oil either because I'm halfway through flower.

The Pyrethrum only makes 10 litres, whereas the Mavrik makes 40 litres for a few dollars more.

Anyone ever used this Yates Mavrik stuff?

google the exact name of the product & add MSDS to it , look at the active ingredient on the MSDS , then search the ingredients name with "safe for Fruit & veg" added or "cannabis" added & see what you find , this is what came up when i searched the yates stuff

Yates Mavrik
" While tau-fluvalinate is an effective insecticide used in agriculture, its use on cannabis is not generally approved and carries potential risks due to the lack of specific safety data and the potential for residue in the final product. "

also keep in mind fruit & veg can be washed before consuming even if that can make no diff to toxicity = we generally don't wash canna , you could argue that we make ice hash which some will say that washes it but what you've also done by making hash is concentrating any toxicity that was on buds to begin with

good luck mate

Dunno if I've said this before here, but I've said it many times in the past, there's something very different about cannabis, while just eating something can be harmless due to stomach acids and digestion and enzymes, combustion of a plant material and inhaling said particulate matter, liquids and gases is another thing

That said, I have read somewhere that pyrethreum/pyrethroids have shown to increase risks of psychosis. But idk tbh and if it was ever applied to flower or just veg matter.

Normally I'd use neonicotinoids (synthetic nicotine imidacloprid) for pest management and fully agree that spraying shit on flowers is definitely not ideal.

I'm kicking myself. This grow has been upto shit from never using any systemic pesticide in the earlier stages, and not only do I have a plague of fungus gnats (have already spent $70 on mosquito dunks trying to rid them the more natural way) but have also seen thrips along with the spider mites..

Right now I guess I'm just looking for the lesser evil, everything will probably still leave residual traces in the plant

try mustard seed meal for gnat babies in the soil , use as a top dress
https://highpoweredorganics.com/pro...ed meal has a,vegetative and mid-bloom phases.

" In addition to its nutrient content, mustard seed meal also has some unique features that make it a valuable addition to any plant care routine. It is high in carbon, which can help to improve the soil's structure and drainage. It also contains low levels of glucosinolates, which are compounds that have been shown to have insecticidal and nematicidal properties. "

Used a mixture of natural pyrethrum derived from daisies and 6 tobacco leaves, steeped in boiling water for an hour, then diluted further into 5 litres of water. Placed into the electric sprayer and saturated the plants thoroughly.

Upon further observation the spider mites are no longer moving and appear paralyzed or dead.

Sprayed the carpet around the tents and the tent floor and walls.

I'll lollipop and remove as many fan leaves as possible, clean the tent floors and then give them another 2 soakings over the next week.
