Nosferatu had a great buildup in my opinion, the scene where the bloke stayed in that small village was really good, up until he jumped out of the window.

From that point onwards I felt like it kinda lost that exhilarating on the edge of your seat kind of feeling.
William Dafoe played his part really well though, Nosferatu wheezing like a stage 4 copd patient kind of got annoying.

my only real problem was the scene where he is found in the coffin and about to get a pickaxe in the chest or whatever. and the corny hand up and grab shot.
at thst point he looked like skeletor or some super villain.
before that when you couldn’t quite see him i thought he was unsettling. after that it seemed a bit corny.

i did much prefer the lighthouse. thought that was an amazing film but then i love lighthouses and crusty seadog types in film.

Yeah I agree, the first scenes of him are really good, the lack of lighting and the whole uneasy exchanges are well played out..

That scene with the empty carriage and mind controlled horses was pretty stupid though. If some strange unmanned horse carriage just appeared out of nowhere to pick you up, wouldn't you kind of be shitting it and hesitant to get in 🤣?? Then how the wolves conveniently chased them to the manor was kind of dumb too but I guess I'm looking into it a bit too much 🤣...

Abigail was an okay vampire/horror film, more of a corny modern take on Dracula but still worth the watch.

The last Voyage of the Demeter was pretty shit I think..

I enjoyed Nosferatu a lot. Sure, there was some cheese, but horror is a pizza and you need a layer of gooey cheese! I'm also happy the vampire was a scary monster, not a horny teenage goth making kissy face with a werewolf. Vampire movies have gotten a bit weak ...
