Man charged after cannabis plants seized at grow-house near Wagga Wagga

Police have charged a man with drug offences after a grow-house was located in the state’s south.
About 7am on Friday 9 January 2026, officers attached to Region Enforcement Squad, with assistance from Southern Region Operation Support Group and Riverina Police District executed a search warrant at a home in Lake Albert.
Officers seized 6 cannabis plants, 2.37grams of cocaine and 5 vials of liquid steroids.
A 50-year-old man was arrested and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.
He was charged with cultivate prohibited plant greater than small and less than indictable quantity and two counts of possess prohibited drug.
He was refused bail and appeared in Bail Division Court 5 on Saturday 10 January 2026, where he was granted conditional bail to appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday 4 February 2026.










Looks like a decent set up and looks like he's got HPS hanging on the walls suggesting he uses that to boost flower or has just recently switched to LED. Poor bloke.

Coke and liquid steroids, that's probably more of a concern than the weed?.. Looks like they split a garage into 2 rooms?

In all honesty I think the charges were pretty light. Advanced Cultivation, Intent to sell, Use of prohibited drugs etc etc they could have made the list much worse.

I don't understand why people say to keep plant numbers under 5, like that will change anything if all goes to shit.

I don't see how having 4 massive plants in big 50L- 60L pots could look any better than 12 small plants in 8 litre pots.. it's all the same to them id say
