I'm a relative newbie. Auto Northern Lights, outdoors, Sydney region. I thought I was pretty happy with this plant. It grew well, looked healthy the whole way. But, have I arrived in Hermie town? No dramas with others - the only others I have are still young seedlings, so not yet at risk. But am I right this has hermie'd? Should I harvest asap, or still let it go? It's pretty close.

If you suspect it has hermied, the best approach is to closely monitor it for a few days. If the signs are clear and you see more pollen sacs developing, it might be wise to harvest sooner rather than later to prevent any potential pollination of your other plants. However, if the plant still looks healthy and you’re not seeing significant signs of hermie traits, you could let it go a little longer. Just keep an eye on it, and trust your instincts! Good luck!

At the end of the day amber just means your THC is starting to degrade anyway. Strains usually signify ripeness in a few ways. Milky trichomes and swollen bracts with receded stigma are all signs of maturity.

You're just saying that coz you're an impatient cunt 🤣
That and I've had strains run 14-16 weeks with with zero amber's too, and the strain retracted most of its stigma around week 11. Had other strains amber up week 9 and decide to throw fresh stigma for weeks afterwards as well so sometimes you need to go by different signifiers.

Did me head in. Valid advice above though.

Amber is a bit of a choice, the plant has other indicators like Vin said. The plant will ripen a touch as you dry it too. Potentially in a hotter environment you will degrade it further than you like. I kinda like something that isn’t going to glue me to the couch or put me to sleep. It’s a toss up between a bit extra weight, the type of smoke you like and what your drying environment is gonna be like. You can kinda half test it if you dry in the microwave, extra heat will give you some amber, and see if you like it or not.

100. I find if I wait until all the clear trichomes fuck off and they milk out, I get a nice up stone for the first 2 hours then crash. Whereas if I go to long, or have had shit curing for ages I just get real heavy in the eyes and become an unproductive cunt.

If I'm doing edibles I'll pick when milky especially over amber's and skip any cure as I still gotta dry, decarb and then cook.

I find if I go to full maturity, then cure, then decarb and cook, it just sends me to sleep haha. But it's probably all in my head.

Sounds like you blokes drink shandys 🤣🤣

I want my buds to knock me the fuck out (as do any mates that smoke it) especially if they're satty dom haha I'm too ADHD I need something to tackle me.

PLUS the more amber, the more pain relief which is the other reason I smoke.

But as you said @Roo it's a bit of a choice
