Returning to this thread as Im pretty sure my wife's usual supplier has been busted, and after the abysmal summer venture we need to do something.
a few weeks of no reply and I can find SAPOL listing that matches up with approx age, location, timing of silence and a few other things :/.

Cheers, we should be. Absolutely zero connection to us. I'm not even 100% sure how she got his number. But he was reliable weekly for the past 2 years or so and his stuff was good, lots of variety

Mate as far as cheap and nasty goes, it would be remise of me not 2 include tight arse bob in the realms of "bit of this" and "bit of that, she'll be right mate"
I have used the same coco mix in a compost pile 4 around 7 yrs
Any kitchen scraps [vegitive], re-worked plants and even organic stuff has been added with frivolous aplomb
Any cheep and dusty nutrient leftovers, [besides worm castings]
All my bags are washed out, given the wire brush treatment [a very blunt wirebrush] and re-used
All water is captured through patented leaky gutter
Only thing i pay 4 is Perlite and some A+B
Yes it works most time, but their is occasional failure......[which i blame on dog or neighbour]

Looks like I followed your shopping list to a tee.
Just need some ducting, extension lead, power board and timer from Bunnings.
Tent is probably too big for the light, but I dont plan on filling it (yet), but it was the best price for 1800mm tall instead of 1600mm.

Looking great. If you want I can send you a variable speed controller for your inline fan. Got some laying around from previous grow setup, also might be interested in this if you plan on expanding

Didn't think of speed, because yeah it'll just be on or off.
...but just checked, it has 2 speeds (wonder if low is too fast?).
Need to clear some space as everything is coming next week - keg fridge needs moving as its located where I'll be putting the tent and I need to block out the shed windows this weekend as you'll be able to look right at the tent when rellies come over (and my missus leaves the light on all the time so neighbours will have a good view at the right angle :/

That aliexpress link is coming in at $45 (new shoppers special) which is dirt cheap

Yeah they got good reviews too. Id say the drivers would go on them before the diodes too. Might have to get myself one for my seedling tent

One speed 5 blade fan rotating dust mover....
Cheaper versions now but I've had these for years and still don't miss a beat
Have to upgrade to fancy one with better speed options one day but if ya on a budget it's optional as long as ya moving air and have enough suction to get some negative pressure and pulling enough air through ya filter then ya golden

Figured the inline would be on all the time... but didn't think about needing to reduce the speed on it :/

Its not really that necessary just more for fine tuning things, the fan could have a bit of coil whine which I get even in the AC inline fan.


The variac you can turn it up or down 0% to 100%, I know for a fact if I turn my fans down a smidge it can definitely reduce the high pitch whine coming from them, just gives a bit of extra control.

But yeah it's not fully needed, 100% speed is good most of the time

I noticed that says DC in the screenshot, is there some magic going on with the u it being DC affecting an AC fan?

NSW man. I don't mind forking out for postage that's all good. They are just sitting around anyway.

They definitely work for AC fans. Must just be some mistake in the listing

Yeah the carrier they use delivers pretty fast.
Their products are fine for the price but there's been some bad reviews on their aftersales support.
Example, if your driver shits itself they might send you a driver and expect you to replace the broken one and stuff like that.

But pretty sure everyone knows how to put a plug on a 3 core cable and connect DC output (red and black) together..

People can be quick to call the lights chinese shit but I've had zero issues with melting wires or broken drivers or diodes.
