If you got peso and like to tinker... you can get an Inkbird thermostat off ebay https://inkbird.com/collections/temperature-controllers
Hook one up to heat matt and control the temp of mat, seeds and clones etc with it...
Also good in veg tent to keep plants asses warm at night when the light goes off and temp drops.

Also get one of these fuckers... they are awesome

Hey guys just getting back into growing after a 15yr break where I only ever grew from clones.
Just received a delivery of seeds and going to germinate this weekend but my question is once I get my tap root can I put straight into a rock wool cube and put into my grow room?
I have DWC growing system using a LED Lumatek 600W light.
Or am I better off making a small homemade greenhouse and buy a small fluorescent light to let it establish before moving it to the grow room?
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Seedlings can handle full light intensity right from the start, provided you keep the water up. The only reason I can see to start with less intense light is to save on power. The question is answered in this vid at about 26:40.

Sorry just checked again, away for work so got the wife to check. Only 1 has sprouted still waiting on 4 more. Do I still leave the dome on and is a humidity of around 90/95% going to damage the one that’s sprouted?

Not really ,,at that age they like humidity ,but don’t need a dome ,,
cuttings are more suited for using a dome..

Yeah don’t let them get too wet ,,they hold plenty of water as it is .otherwise they can drown.
you can suck excess water from them by using a syringe or paper towel,,can suck plenty water from them ,they only need to be moist..so that there is room for a little aeration in it .

I remove any dome/cover as soon as seedling appears through medium. I've had many seedlings dampening off(die) if I don't remove the dome asap. Also point a fan/air at the seedling as soon as it's sprouted.

Ok so I have all 5 seedlings sprout (feminized wedding cake from Mediseed Man) the first 2 grew a little leggy as I had the light to far away as you can see in the pics.
It’s been a week now and they’re starting to grow a couple roots out bottom of rockwool but not much happening up top, the leaves haven’t seemed to have grown is this normal for the first week?

Looks ok at week 1. Point a fan more directly at them, as it will help thicken stems. Maybe reduce your light distance a little bit at a time, to minimise plants stretching for more light.

Thanks Old Fox, I’ve reduced the light down closer since I noticed the first two stretching and the other 3 are looking good. Should I start noticing more leaves starting to grow by this week do u think? And how long till I transfer them into my grow room?

First weeks most of the energy is used to set a good foundation for the roots

Once this has been achieved, good aerated soil helps quicken the process , provided the nutrients are balanced correctly and the correct pH for medium the top half will take off accordingly
Thanks Madmick, I’ll be using a DWC system so they’ll be staying in rockwool until they go to my grow room and I’ve been told to only use straight water until they grow atleast 2 sets of true leaves, what’s ur take on that?

As Mic said, first few weeks are concentrating on root development however new leaves are continually emerging. By days 17-21, the first 4-5 sets of leaves should be there.

Oh that long so it will be about 4 weeks till I transition them into my grow room?
