Four FEM pollen chucks @ nearly week 8 flowering.
#1. Orange OG(reversed) LIT Farms x Guzzlers, Humboldt Seed Company
#2. Godfather OG(reversed) WSE x Mochi , Pure Instinto genetics.
#3. SundaeDriver x Zawtz( reversed), Cannarado x California Rolls, LIT Farms
#4. Granny Candy(reversed) Humboldt Seed Company x LIT Marker, LIT Farms.
20241130_143251.jpg Nute lockout evident on some fan leaves. I used veg nutes up to 4 weeks flowering and a leftover bottle ( 6years old) of Bunnings hydro/potash nutes, for last 4 weeks. Too much Potassium and not enough Calcium uptake. Salts had crystallised at the bottom of bottle and could no longer be dissolved ( due to lack of agitation in last 6 years), but I'm not paying money for fresh nutes for pollen chucks.

Entrepreneurs at Happy Valley U.S.A. are pollen chucking Ethos genetics, and launched( or launching)a new business using this copycat approach.........lol...... https://happyvalleygenetics.com/about/. The farken hide of those cunce....😂
They even copied the art style on the packs 🤣, fake it until you make it - that's basically the approach of these pollen chuckers (besides a handful of actual breeders).
That being said I do like a bargain and have been guilty of buying S2 ethos packs from chuckers in Canada.

Got a reg pack of MAC which is from another chucker who used 'Copycat Genetics' seedstock, apparently the guy spends thousands on clones of the latest hype strains to make seeds to sell off for profit. Guy is a bit of a scumbag though, basically stole the business / image of a breeder who died, and thinks weed should be genetically modified to be sterile to stop the end buyer from making seeds, like the monsanto of weed.

So with that being said, I'm happy to throw money at the no name chuckers, as long as they can prove that it's legit 👍🏻

Big fan of LITFarms. The Cherry Zoap is from them. What is #3 looking and smelling like? There's Blueberry Sundae project waiting to be started

#3'is a subtle smell of pine. Decent trichome coverage. Small tight flower formation. Initial foxtail like growth has just started on top colas in last week( photo attached) . Not sure if its genetic or just a response to grow room heat - none of the other 3 are doing it. The potential standout so far is #4 LIT Marker. Acrid gas smell with the sugar leaves cupping excessively, covered in frost. Looks don't necessarily equate to potency/quality, but if it tastes like it smells it could be a keeper.
I haven't smoked any of these strains yet to be able to comment with any level of certainty. But so far both Lit Farm strains seem legit.

5.4 The right placement of the silver thiosulfate

The precise placement or application location of silver thiosulfate (STS) in Cannabis plants is crucial for effective absorption, assimilation, and sex reversal. Breeders suggest that the STS solution should be foliar sprayed onto the entire plant until runoff (Lubell and Brand, 2018; DiMatteo et al., 2020). Moreover, Flajšman et al. (2021) indicated that the efficacy of STS application is higher when the entire plant is foliar sprayed, rather than specifically applying STS to the shoot tips. These studies confirm the efficiency of foliar application of STS as the most reliable application method, offering promise to Cannabis cultivators for commercial application.

5.5 The right application frequency of silver thiosulfate

The frequency of STS application does not significantly affect the degree of masculinization in Cannabis plants. Studies have shown that whether STS is applied to plants in three consecutive intervals of 7 days under vegetative stage (Lubell and Brand, 2018) or with a single application followed by flower induction, all plants underwent masculinization in the same growth stage (Flajšman et al., 2021). To minimize operational costs, a single application of STS is sufficient to induce maleness in female Cannabis plants.

Following STS application, it is recommended to allow the plants to remain in a long photoperiod for up to 7 days before subjecting them to a short photoperiod to induce flowering. This delay is crucial to ensure proper assimilation of STS by the plant.
############################

Interesting scientific article concludes that:

# One STS application is all that's really needed to reverse a cannabis plant. It does not need 3 x STS applications, as 3 applications does not significantly alter results.
# The *entire* plant/leaves should be sprayed until runoff, not just the nodes, and
# Best efficacy of the 1 application of STS is done at 7 days prior to flip to 12/12.

Other parts of the article( not included here)discusses the strength of STS application, and concludes that the STS should NOT be further diluted with water. Best results were observed at full strength STS application.

So, in summary. Spray the shit out of your entire plant( until runoff)at full strength STS, 7 days before flip to 12/12. No need to spray a second or third time.

Reminder, not all strains can be reversed. It's generally accepted that around 60% to 80% of strains can be reversed. I'm assuming(?) these same principles equally apply to autos and photos, as no distinction has been made on any study I have found, between autos and photos.

Pollen Chuck to your hearts content, fellow enthusiasts. 👍 And as always, fuck Aus Kustoms.

Past two attempts I've sprayed only once and both auto and photo produced copious amounts of healthy pollen.

The times I sprayed more than once didn't work out that well, the pollen sacs would fall from the plant before opening and pollen was a crystally white colour.

I've experimented with different schedules using 1, 2, or 3 applications. The highest volume of pollen the plants produced, and therefore the largest number of seeds, has been via only a single application. To be fair, I saturated ( approx 30 to 50ml per plant)the plants with STS when only using one application, but only sprayed the nodes ( approx 5ml per plant) when spraying STS three times.

Light deprivation using tarps, if theyre in the ground. Or if theyre in pots, move them into a dark room every night( after 12 hours of sunlight). Once they've started flowering they shouldn't reveg at this time of year. Only need to manage light dep for first few weeks of 12/12, as daylight hours are naturally getting shorter now.
