I put picked up a techplex 240w board off a mate for $40 with a bung driver. Replaced it with the same elg-240 driver minus dimmer and it goes really well in a 3x1.6. exceptional footprint. Not quite the right footprint for a 2x4 though. If the spaced the boards out another 6" in the middle, it would be a good fit for a 2x4.

I'm getting 55k ( roughly 900umol/s at this spectrum) in the hotspot and 40k (650umol/s) in the corners at 16" and around 180w.

Pretty sure these boards are everywhere. I have another and it's branded "maxkon" with maxkon printed on the boards. It's going in the second 3x1.6 in a few weeks.
Now we getting somewhere bro , looks alright.
So what do ya reckon is best value for money for running 2 autos in one tent , veg in 1 and flower I'm 1 max footprint be 1.2 x 1.2 ??

Nah mate you fucked nothing, you're flushing so you don't want the plant to absorb any anyway

If I flush , rarely I don't ph. Straight from hose to pot

That's the aim of the flush. Flush any nutrients from your neutral medium, perlite , canna clayballs dwv, and coco any of them mixed together back to neutral, most water supplies in out major cities water is close ti pH 7.0 , neutral

And the plant doesn't get any more in it
Ok bro , wow , cheers aye..
Peace

900 is pretty much the maximum without the need for co2

Is that a full capacity?

How do you measure your spectrum if you turn it down ?
I'm not sure how the spectrum changes when dimmed, but I borrow a mates apogee to figure out how to match it to the lights I have and convert lux to ppfd.

The techplex board matches at lux multiplied by 0.0158 and the kingbrite boards are around 0.0143.

For example the techplex board reads 893umol/s In the middle with the apogee and 56200 with my lux Meter so I stick with the 0.016 formula.

I know at full pelt it puts out close to 1300umol/s in the hotspot at 16" (around 85k lux) in a 3x1.6.

Forget what it was in the 2x4.

I’ve just got a couple Mars hydro TS3000 in a 4x8 which hasn’t been running over summer because it’s setup in a shed an gets above 30 in there so I thought I should wait for the weather to start cooling

If you know your power costs per kwh, you can figure it out by calculating the power draw in kWh over your said photoperiod and multiply the kWh by the pricing of the power.
So what would something like that cost per qtr ish ... ?
So 2.2kwh daily (0.185kwh X 12h) at a rough estimate of 25c/kWh gives 55c per day. Roughly $50 a QTR at 12/12, and pretty much the same for veg as the light is usually dimmed down to 120w over 18hrs (I like to keep the same DLI in veg as I do in flower).

Thats just going off average Qld quotes. Not sure what we are paying as my bills are included in the uni accommodation scheme.

If they are drying too fast put up to a couple ounces in maccas or KFC type bags ,,they dry much slower that way ,,
Click and collect paper bags from bunnings , best thing in the store

Depending on your order you get nice brown paper bags with fucking handles , I've started experimenting with them lately , they work good , nice thick brown paper

Now that's a great a honest answer , having a electrical background I still had to read it a few times to understand your answer

And your using the proper equipment to measure not a iPhone

I think the alteration of the spectrum by unnecessary use of the dimmer might not be as beneficial as thought by some

Keep in mind when looking for a light for your new area, growing autos you can hit DLI with far less light if on a budget. At 120w/12" over 18hours with the 240w Longboard, a DLI of 30-40 over the whole tent is achievable, whereas a photoperiod would take a bit more intensity to hit the required DLI at 12 hours. Same power used over the day, same DLI, just different photoperiod.

These autos were done at 120w in a 3x1.6, and the one underneath were under 150w in an 80x80. Thats 24 and 21w/ft2.
