Fuck mate if I ever hit a retirement home. They going to get a rude shock with my basic needs being grown and consumed in my room. Maybe a still and bar fridge

Even if I have to smoke MC they won't be stopping me

Do U purge your oil after U make it to get all impurities out ?
Like someone mentioned ,,I added a bit of water near the end of the process,,supposed to clear it out..

Too bad Hudo hasn’t been around he has a fair but of experience with ISO ,Butane and now he has a press ,,still waiting to hear his returns from using the press.

the press would give the cleanest/purest.

Making your own spirit at home is simple. Stick to the rules and it is safe and also no where near as fiddly or time critical as beer. Ethanol is what we buy from the bottle shop (some has a little methanol too) for human consumption. Like methanol, iso is not fit for human consumption. I can make 4.5 litres ethanol @ 95% from one run. All you need is 8kg of sugar, some turbo yeast , a clearing agent (optional) and carbon to filter it totaling less than $30. The only problem is the alcohol should be cut down to 40-60% before filtering as it removes impurities better. Having said that if you are having a dose of tincture you can add a dribble of not quite boiling water and the alcohol burns off while preserving the ingredient. The majority of herbal tinctures are between 25 -45% alcohol at 1 part herb to 5 parts alcohol by weight. I think 60% would be ample, but I'm waiting for a naturopath friend to get back to me. Second hand still set ups are very reasonably priced. I was just thinking for doing oil, you could just re distill the remaining alcohol and you have double distilled vodka, do it again you got triple.:giggle:
