that's cool mate but imo 50 liter is the absolute minimum , 15 to 20 gallon & above would be a much better choice for a bunch of reasons not just lower root temps
moving them out of the sun sort of defeats the purpose of a sun loving plant
it's cool though what your doing is good management given what the environment is throwing at you
There is defiantly a temperature range that Marijuana plants thrive/preffer and i don't think its at high 30s or in the 40s
I move them under shade cloth, the sun still gets through just slightly diffused

The plants tell me when they have had enough sun/heat because the leaves start to close.
And yeah ideally i do want pots over 50L but to be honest my grows aren't huge and every time i finish i check the root mass and it never really fills it

Have u tried 30-50 ltr fabric pots with a 400ml saucer under em
With half decent genetics u should easily get 8- 10 zips off each outside..[seriously]
When u water em fill the saucer as well and take note when it empties
Water in morn and saucer should be empty that night on hot days
Fabric wicks up from saucer 2 help keep roots cooler. Try not 2 leave excess water over night

P.S wish i had dollar 4 every time i just said saucer😁

some of the best smoke comes out of Thailand where temps average high 30's & often gets into the 40's
but your right lower temps would make it easier on the plant , on the soil biology & the grower

it's about how the plant handles those higher temps & she'll handle higher temps when soil moisture is kept more consistent & roots are more protected , like being in the ground moisture & temperature don't fluctuate anywhere near the rate they would in a 50 liter pot , that fluctuation can cause stress because it can change quicker than a grower can act sometimes

it's not about roots filling the pot out in fact i would suggest you don't want to fill the pot out , better to have plenty spare imo

as bob points out there are many ways to try & keep moisture consistent using a drip tray for wicking is one or using a blumat system would be another in smaller pots

Plants outdoors thrive in high 30's to low 40s during veg, as long as water is maintained. Morocco is one of the world's largest hash producers, and their daytime temps rarely dip below 40. They have been successfully growing in those temps for hundreds, maybe thousands of years.

Hey can anyone help me out it's 43degrees here at the moment and very hot wind the stems of my 5 week old plants have flopped over should I move them or leave them were they are will the stand up once the temp drops? Cheers
Totally agree with focusing on keeping your roots happy but just thought I'd mention seaweed in case you aren't using it. It's more of a tonic than a fertilizer and strengthens a plants stress response. Studies show it can increase a plant's temp tolerance to heat or cold by a couple of degrees. It's great for preventing transplant shock as well.

You're probably already onto it but just thought I'd put it out there, good luck with them :)
