Shits not getting any easier, young fella got his license today, got him a ba falcon dedicated gas. Ive been driving it the last year as diesel is just fucking bullshit.

Picked up a bf wagon for a grand a few weeks back again dedicated gas, the way it’s going I’m thinking 3 to six months it should pay for itself. Diesel will hit 4 a litre now Trump has blocked the straight.

I’m still not convinced on EV’s so happy to get around in an Aussie made car until I can’t get LPG anymore.

Crazy times, we all getting fucked over.

Im not a car guy, so im just going by my memory of the fact my first car (I bought) was a 1994 Celica (in 2012), so figure it's just as fun driving. But fanging that thing around was heaps for fun.. and now I'm in a 2+ tonne SUV/4x4 I still can't get rid of the habbits of driving it like a 1 tonne silly car lol

It’s 2010 that’s like a brand new one 🤣 with only around 380000kms on it hardly run in. Got 680000 out of my 2006 bf running gear is still good just developed body rust. Need to pull a few bits off it before it goes to the wreckers.
It’s been on the nature strip for about 18 months got home from work today and had a council notice on it car has been abandoned and needs to be removed in 24 hrs or some shit. So the boy and pushed it onto my front lawn about 3 meters from where it sat. It’s now on my land 🤣

It’s this old pathetic old wench that thinks she owns the street, an absolute cunt of a thing. I’m sure me pushing the old wagon onto my lawn will piss her off council can’t do fuck all now 🤣

And parked my Ranger right where the old wagon was 😂

Dude make sure you plug a computer in and check the Codes, they are bad for timing chains and a massive job, I've done the chains on 3 of them it's a complete "CU in the NT" I still have the cam locks and all that. Unless it's a V8

Yeah I've had 2 VE's both series 2, no problems with timing chains. People reckon its the earlier engines some people say its the day of manufacture/assembly, some people say its random.

My silver debadged Omega VE was amazing, came stock with great rims so it set it off beautifully and because series 2 had the nice trim on the outside.
For a base model, the Omega series 2 was pretty neat.
Fuck was the aircon amazing. I remember the few record hot summers we hadd a few years in a row. The Omega didnt miss a beat, was a godsend for my mother. Who went to Melb a few times in it.
I went to Sydney in it a few times and to Middle of NSW 20 or 30 times over the years. I had the Omega then got a Hilux 2017 and then just before the pandemic found another sea blue series 2 and snapped it up, got it for 1200, sold it for 5000, should of put 7 on it looking back and knowing what I know now.

Yeah alloytec engines are the ones the ones that have the timing chain problem, vz had alloytec engine as well.. That's why I'm a fan of the VY because they have the good old filthy ecotec. Don't mind an old buick as well especially a series 2 vr

I noticed between the 2 different one's the cam phasers and chains are different, I had a vz sv6 ute I got cheap and went to replace the engine with an earlier model from a Calais all it did was pop and fat when trying to start. A mate that knows more then me said unplug all the cam sensors all 4 and try start it, the fucker ran strait away!

So to get it going pulled cam phasers and gears off and old one at my brothers install newer timing chain kit then she ran perfect on that motor.

Seems to be chains and gears between models

I guess one of the theories I put forward that the engines between models are different may play a role could be true... I personally know of an early model ve 2008 or 2009 that done a timing chain. Owner thinks it jumped the entire cog one notch. Was a piece of shit compared to the 2010/2011 series 2 models. Center dash was different had manual controls compared to a big screen in the series 2.
