Hi sensei,
I germinated a freebie from 7 east the other day. The strain is Grape dragon. It was going well until I saw the base of the stem look so dry and can't seem to hold on to the soil. but the rest of the plant looks fine. I wonder what went wrong?

It happens to me if the there is a lot of movement of the seedling, seems to cause minor damage to the stem that becomes a bridge for fungal infection. I try to stabilize the seedling to minimise movement with a little bamboo skewer, some live some die.
Edit: excessive moisture can be part of the problem too.

You kinda left this part off the original post?

But take time to mention the breeder and strain?

Because I didn't know that could be the case. I mentioned the breeder and the strain because it is what it is. No intention to gaslight the beloved breeder. I was more than happy when I received my order.

Yeah it sounds like damping off which can happen from moisture and fungal issue's in the soil and the wind just helped the problem along by weakening the stem but I think it would have happened anyway. Pls don't think I'm being a dick but as sedge has said use a better seed starter and you'll have much better chances mate..it sucks loosing little ones so give them the best shot at life..good luck with your next ones bud.đź‘Ť

What strains are you going to plant next ?
currently I have 3 ongoing auto. I will just wait for them to finish first. And grow 2 at a time indoor after that. Probably the seeds from 7 east. Maybe trophy wife since they are easy to grow and quite vigorous according to the website description.
