I’ve been logging onto the site on the net every time I use the forum. I’ve only just realised there is an app I can download. It won’t download for me anyway for some reason, but is this a better way to use TSE? I do have quite a few problems using it on the net like signing me out multiple times when trying to write a post. I’ve given up on a few posts when I’ve tried a few times and it’s done this.

As for your logout query, Xenforo (forum software) will force reauthentication when your IP changes. This is for a range of security features.
Your VPN likely rotates your IP address every X minutes or after X requests. This is also a security feature on the client side (you).
I can turn of the IP security features so you won't be logged out when your IP changes, but that will compromise other aspects and I don't recommend it at all.
It would be best if you didn't have IP rotation (or whatever your provider calls it) turned on when visiting TSE, or maybe only turn it on if you're doing dodgy shit haha.

P.s. IP address data was one of the only unrecoverable bits of info from the site crash, but from the new data, I can see that Slash and BudSlinger have multiple IP addresses used in a single session/ time period.

Lemme know your VPN provider if you want to know if/how to use a single IP per VPN session.

You got my number on that one, I had absolutely no idea, that's my bad! Now that I know its on my end I will fix it, I checked settings and I can see where I can change some things to stop my IP from jumping about. Appreciate the response and all the work you do.
