Saw their insta post. I haven't got from them before - they look like they had good stock. Shame to see them go

Doesn't really surprise me.. prices were more jacked than Mr Beans collectables.
The only thing that looked appealing was the wally duck stuff like the mango haze ibl and the c99 cross.. everything else was just mostly chucks which didn't justify the high prices in my opinion..

Yeah the wally duck was mostly what interested me. the CSI stuff also, but would probably chance it going direct if I wanted it.

I saw that gurt by seeds put up a bunch of stock on their website recently. But unsure what their long term plans are.

Even being pricey, was just nice to see a few local places in the mix. I'm sure someone else will step in soon enough

Yeah that's how I felt about it, you can basically email wally for a list and buy directly from him probably a bit cheaper too, and the amount of freebies from CSI is too good to not order directly from from them 😁

Curious about the above comments.. wondering what people know that I don't re TSSB/HD?

Their prices seem comparable to overseas costs given currency conversions, shipping costs and the risk of seizure.. (excepting 7EG of course haha). Sure their prices are inflated but I'd prefer that than losing the entire shipment and hundreds of $$ which has happened on several occasions now (not to mention the Kustoms paranoia)

I've grown out some CSI gear via TSSB recently indoors (ran the freebie fallen soldiers I got with a larger purchase). There was a lot of interesting variety there - some beautiful purples and a sweet 16 cross that was pure candy - but I wasn't hugely impressed by the vigour of the plants. Some Aussie breeder beans I was running in the same conditions were sig more impressive in yield and general vigour.

I've also really enjoyed HD's potcast. Some great interviews, very informative, seems like a thoughtful dude. Given all of the breeder contacts he has from around the world I can't imagine he would settle for average genetics. I've got some of his beans running outdoors now - will be posting a thread soon. They are the most vigorous and best germ rates of the beans that have come up in the mix I have going.

Just made a purchase with TSSB given the 50% off closing sale. Got a free pack with each pack purchased - 28 fem seeds for 220bucks. Seems reasonable to me.

Promise there's no hidden agenda here, just curious if there's something I'm missing..

Yeah thats true and I've ordered original breeders packs in the past from a local seedbank too. The packs I bought back then for $120 AUD are now $116 AUD direct from the breeder (which doesn't include shipping. They don't send to Australia anymore anyway) so I think I did pretty well looking back.

Back to your question. I wasn't having a go and was just stating a blatant fact. Last time I checked that site they had a few F2 gen seeds and an IBL by wally duck, the rest being random chucks. I never saw any of the CSI packs and no Heavy Dayze genetics either.

What I saw was F1/R1 crosses of random strains (goat and monkey seeds and what not). I just don't think pollen chucks are worth that much. Especially considering when you can become a community member here and choose from a boatload of different chucks.

Its been said here before but I'll say it again, most F1 seeds are not true hybrids but polyhybrids, meaning the seeds you buy and grow are going to have lots of varied traits between siblings due to the mixture of different strains in the lineage.

So generally you get a shit load of different looking plants, different looking flowers, different smelling buds and plants that will have varying flower times.
It's not necessarily a bad thing and I love pheno hunting (growing some sativas with some varying phenos at the moment which is fun) but the price was $30-$35 AUD from Mr Nice and it's parents are stable worked lines so it's more of a true F1 hybrid than most F1 seeds / strains.

Thats just my 2 cents, there's people that pay $300-$400 for American hype F1 seeds too, and that's fine if you think there's value to it, everyone's got their own opinion but that's just mine 😁.

Unless I’ve missed it somewhere, please tell me more 🤐

Fair enough Goonie, thanks for the reply. I wasn't referring to your comment initially btw, it was more the IYKYK and cowboys comment that I was curious about - which Green G has clarified above, cheers.

Also, just to clarify, the variety I got in the CSI fallen soldiers packs was expected, each seed is from a different parent so not so much about the poly hybrid thing, but I get your point.

I have only bought CSI and HD beans from TSSB. From what I gather CSI does F1s crosses of hyped clone only strains but he also does 100+ plant pheno hunts from S1s of those same hyped clone only strains and crosses his best picks - I'm running an example of this outdoors this season, his Chemdog '91 S1 #12 x Purple Urkle S1 #103
As to HD's breeding methods, I have no clue, but I would presume it's more than just pollen chucking (not that I think you're suggesting that, but just to say there's probably some value add which he is charging for).

I have a fallen soldiers cross somewhere in the fridge too, was the fallen soldiers a freebie?

Yeah I think Heavy Dayze does a bit of backcrossing with his stuff, was not referring to his stuff 👍🏻

Soz for hijackin but ya get much lemon from that cross? Got a pack but know nothing about lemon mazar (lemon skunk x some Afghani or something?)
No mate, ran the whole pack and nothing in the way of lemon. I figure the Mac/oreoz tended to dominate the terps. They had a huge stretch, solid frosty nugs, sweet, earthy nose. Here's a few examples..

And just to complete the hijack...
Here's some of the variety from the CSI fallen soldier gear
