Fluros are ok,
Depends how you germinate your seeds ,,I use paper towel in two saucers ,,

if I put the fluro at a height so the saucer is about +or- 26 degrees
it helps with better germ rates.

I've had some stunting of autos in the past that I've put down to having my QBs too bright / close during the first few weeks. Just thinking the T5s might be a bit nicer the the babies during that stage  :sneaky:

Hoping to get some opinions / experience on using a T5 Fluoro for starting seeds, is this a better option than LED QB?
This is the one I'm looking at
For the same price you could get a few strip leds which will last longer then the ballast in that t5 fixture plus you’ll replace the bulbs a few times.

if look at bridgelux strip or Samsung h or f series strips. Grow lights Australia has h series samsunga for $9 a strip.

the fluro will work but.

I use 2 x 18w t5's from bunnings for seedlings, cuttings, I like the t5's cos you can lay them right down on the humidity domes and they give off enough heat to not need a heat mate most of the time.

But don't expect the quickest of growth under cfls especially after a few weeks.

That's kind of what I was hoping to find Frank and it'd only be for the first 10 days or so, then under the Quantum boards.
