Rock wool and seed

Hi Guy's,

I think about a lot of silly things! I was wondering if it makes any difference when you put you seed in the rock wool? regarding the angle, is it best to put them in upright, upside down or side ways?

You probably think I'm crazy , but it's a legit question isn't it?

Doesn't matter really, what happens (if it's buried deep enough (1cm+) in any medium) is the taproot will naturally shoot towards the bottom, if the medium is compact enough then the cotyledons (baby leaf) will pull apart from the seed embryo and shell naturally, but if the medium is too loose the seedlings can sprout up with their shells still stuck to them.

I've never used rockwool but I assume it would be the same. I've tried those root plugs for germinating seeds too and failed miserably. Coco in cups has always been good for me

probably thinking to much because the Northern Light's didn't pop yet! what do you think the max amount of days is before I know that seed was no good? the Kali and LSD popped the same day, this the NL is 3 days behind..

Id dig it back up carefully to see if it has sprouted or not. I always germinate my seeds in wet paper towel before I chuck them into the cups.

I know, I've seen how you do it maybe I'm better off changing my way?

Just takes the guesswork out for me, some seeds that look perfect still won't germ sometimes, easier for me to just sort through the paper towel then atleast I'll know for sure if they have sprouted and will grow

I did try to begin experimentation on seed orientation when starting in rockwool........but the little buggers bounced around way too much to actually set up
