Oxygen Absorbers for Storage?

I keep the bulk of my herb in jars and I've been using Boveda-type packs to control RH%. Works well and if unopened, they can last a year+. Opened or unopened, eventually the aroma & flavour fades over time. I've always assumed oxidation is the creeping death for long term flower storage. Same as that dusty bland paprika hiding at the back your pantry since 2005!

While searching for work desiccants, I found those little oxygen absorber packs found in food packs like jerky. Anyone tried limiting oxygen during storage? I reckon it can't hurt at $1 per litre, but is genuinely useful ...

Yeah, spend the time and do the dry 'n cure properly, it should come out of the bag/container the same freshness it went in 2-3 years earlier.

But yeah, i'd say heat, light and oxygen is your enemy over time.

I got distracted and didn't buy the O2 absorbers in time to test on the last harvest. Those buds have been in the jar for more than a month now and are not a great candidate for A vs B testing anymore. I still think it's worth a shot and will try next time. I'll come back to this thread in a few months, as I'm just now getting ready to plant again. If anyone tries them first, please let us know ...
