How's it going fellas? So, I am going to receive some auto seeds in next week. Since this is gonna be my first ever growing, I am quite excited and gathering some ideas and making some preparations.
Still deciding whether I should do it indoor or outdoor. But likely to use indoor setting I think even tho there are some space issues since the weather issue is more concerning.
I bought couple of fabric pots and some gardening tools.
So my first question is what sort of medium should I get and
growligqt power (I will only be growing 2 at a time)?
I bought this "Gardenline - Seaweed concentration" from AlDI as well because apparently seaweed is quite good for cannabis overall. Thanks in advance sensei!🙏
PostScriptum - Budget is kinda an issue here 😂🥲

If money is tight your better off growing them outside ,,

they need more light hours if growing indoors than a normal photoperiod does ,,so that’s more power used for less yield.

30 litre bag of coco peat at Bunnings is cheap ,

Ok, thanks Sedge. I prefer outdoor anyway. But this "not able to control the wether" thing is concerning me. I guess that's just my unexperienced ass talking.

Obviously would be cheaper outside but you have to deal with weather, bugs and possibly theft

Whatever you decide don't scrimp out on medium and nutrients.. That doesn't mean you cant find something cheap but buy things just because they are the cheapest is a bad idea. Seaweed is good but is more of an additive than nutrient.. You will need base nutrients also.

Outdoors i would go for something like Canna Terra as the soil because it's good as a buffer and less worry about PH etc which may be ideal for a beginner. Terra will cost you $50 but it's worth it.. Really good Worm castings are available at Bunnings in 15kg bags for $30. Some base nutrients and the seaweed is all else you would need.. $100 and you probably got enough for two grows.

Indoors can be costly to set up and a lot more time consuming than the above but you can still do it on a budget if needed. You can spend a lot or a little but if you are a first time grower i would just start with basics. Ph pens, buffer, ec meters all cost money so again it might be best to just use a medium that can buffer like Canna Terra. Same cost as outdoor + light, fans and electricity.

I started out indoor with a $600 budget i borrowed from a mate.. Just recently i spent $6k on my new grow room lol You gotta start somewhere

Yeah agree on the canna terra and the only real difference in outside or inside is cost of set up..when I 1st started auto's I wanted something simple as a base and work up from that so for me 1st grow was Canna terra pro the one with some nutrients in it to start with and I got Greenplanet backcountry blend powered nutrients in little satchels for grow bloom and boost and the Greenplanet keep ph stable and I only needed about a teaspoon every 2 weeks. It worked a treat and it's pretty user friendly. No matter what you choose bud don't go over thinking it and good luck mate..peace love and lotsa buds

Here's another tip to save on transplanting, use 2 same size small pots for starters one as a cover pot only bottlom holes and inside pot heaps of holes and once she's going at around 2 weeks just plant the whole pot in a bigger one for her permanent home..again good luck mate..

Yeah nah I don't think I'd be doing that

If your plant is ready to be transferred into a larger pot you should be able to lift it out of existing pot and the roots will keep it all together, straight into a larger pot no stress at

Maybe it would be better to cut the bottom of the pot , but this will probably damage the roots and cause some stress , so it would be better to simply wait till you can lift it out whole

As for a few bad days causing bud rot , you need a little more than that , healthy plants are quite resilient

As long as you aren't cooking your roots there is no need to take it out of the sun

As for putting a fan in your yard on your plants , good way to draw attention to yourself , there shouldn't be any need , in a greenhouse maybe

Lots wives tales and myths be careful what you choose to believe

thanks man. I will keep that in mind. I surely don't wanna cause any stress on the plant.

Welcome mate. I'm in the middle of my first grow at the moment! I'm using 5 gal fabric pots in a 70xmx70cm tent kit. I used canna terra (bag of soil from the local grow store) and 'canna veg' and 'canna bloom' nutrients. It's been surprisingly easy so far and I'd really recommend that if you just want an easier first grow.

I planted straight in the pots, but the canna terra has fertiliser in it, so I just got a bit of Bunnings tomato seedling mix and dug a little bit from the middle of the pot so the seed goes in there then as the roots grow out it hits the nutrients. Once the seeds split, I put them straight in. I'm also growing autos and didn't want to have to re-pot them. Just need to be careful not to water too much in the beginning.

I missed the early bits of the grow, but you can follow along as I no doubt fuck it up shortly, here: https://www.theserratededge.com/forum/threads/2x2-grow-white-widow-auto.1710/

Of course, there are a million ways to grow, but I found it really hard just to find simple advice on a specific process to follow re what to buy and use so just sharing as a starting point - you'll have fun experimenting!

Appreciate your input there mate. It's true there are tons of overwhelming informations so I decided to keep it simple. Nice grow you got there going btw. I might just follow whatever you doing now.haha
