Bubble hash questions

I've got a plant just almost finished drying (only fan leaves removed so far - hanging whole). It's very, very leafy and a nightmare to trim. The inner bits of the bud are also still a bit green/not ripe. Doesn't smell super good and the high is pleasant, but slightly 'jittery'. Maybe from pulling too early.

I'm thinking bubble hash might be a way to salvage the good parts of it and I've got a set of bags. Would appreciate any tips for a first-timer.

At the moment wondering:
- do I need to trim at all first?
- should I think about curing first?
- do you freeze the plant material before making the hash, or just go from drying into the ice+water
- I've probably got 1.5-ounces including leafy matter. The set comes with 5 bags, if I wanted to use 3-4 which ones would you ditch (biggest ones after the 220?).
- Any other advice?

Thanks heaps

Ive only made it once so no expert but have to agree about volume. I had more like a pound of trim and still didn’t get a great deal after quite a lot of work.

MIne was dry

I’d probably freeze it first next time if I have room in the freezer.

I remember I didnt use all the bags. Think I used the biggest holes first then skipped to the last 2 perhaps. Something like that.

1.5 oz is a waste of time for the amount of effort to make bubble hash!
Most use far more than that!!
For that amount ide use the dry ice method!
Oh great - I hadn't heard of that, so will do some research. Thanks!

Hi Shellz

its been a while since i played with bubble hash but i seem to remember yields of around 5%. prolly a little less if im being brutally honest.

dry ice shaken around in a 220 bag (blue ) would be around 10%. Obviously more green matter in the dry ice hash.

Dry ice comes in bricks or pellets. The pellets are the go.
BOC sell it.

Tell them you are using it for ‘shrink fitting’ if you not overly keen to tell them you are making hash lol.

Yeah fuck it have a go. Pick up a few pointers for next time. Nice little amount to get a feel for it, especially if your agitating by hand. Trimming leafy bud is so unrewarding.

Id chop it up into smaller bits with scissors. Freeze overnight. Bag of ice on standby. Chuck 10 litres of water in the freezer 3-4 hours before you start to get ice cold water as well. The colder the better for the entire process.

Best hash comes from 73,45,25 bags, 220 only to filter the shit out.

Dont agitate/mix in the bags, use another bucket and then pour that stock into the bags.

If the plant isn't already dry, then the hash will take longer to dry out but a lot of guys do fresh frozen bubble.

I’ve allways used fresh leaves..
now I only keep the sweaty leaves and freeze them till I have enough for a good run.
