Trio charged after 5000 cannabis plants found at Sydney property
One of the men was treated for a dog bite sustained during the arrest in the city's south-west.
Three men have been charged following the discovery of thousands of marijuana plants in Sydney's south-west.
Police executed a search warrant at a property on Ingleburn Road in Leppington about 8am yesterday after receiving a tip-off about the property.
More than 5000 cannabis plants were found during the search.
"We did receive information and that's why we've executed a warrant today," Acting Inspector Mark Landrigan said.
"The plants are in a growth stage from babies to mature... it is a large amount of plants.
"It's becoming an established area so it is quite brazen."
Three men allegedly fled from the property and were arrested nearby.
One man was treated by paramedics for a dog bite he sustained during the arrest.
The three men – aged 36, 43, and 39 – were charged with multiple drug-related offences.
The 43-year-old was also charged in relation to an outstanding warrant.
They were refused bail and will appear in court today.
