I've never been a big fan of the death penalty but I would make an exception in the case of the (alleged) childcare rapist in the news in Victoria in recent days. I remember years ago at Customs, a mate of mine doing computer forensics (downloading for evidence) on this prick's laptop in an interview at Tullamarine and looking through some of the images. Guy had just returned from SEA and his phone was full of horrific stuff. Anyway, at one point he looked up at this prick who was sitting across from him at the table and this prick smiled back at him. My mate just snapped and flew at the guy (who was restrained at the time) and punched him in the face a few times before me and this other bloke could pull him off. My mate never got in the shit over that (!) but did transfer out of doing computer forensics after that as it was doing his head in. He had two young daughters (under 10) at the time.

Whats the story with computer forensics? Can't someone only be in computer forensics for a few months to 12 months or 3 years because it fks with their mind, like flash backs when they are trying to go about their normal life?

Yeah, they see some heavy duty shit, no doubt. Some last longer than others. I think my mate did it for 5 years but I've known people who did it for over 10. Don't know about flashbacks, but possible I guess. No timeliness as such but you get monitored - a lot of RU OK chats.

They get access to psychs and debriefs and are checked at pretty fully in training to see if they'll be able to handle it. Also do other stuff like tracking money and imports stuff via messaging, emails, customs brokers emails, etc.
